@dakotafunnyfarm: I'll never apologize for how I handle my pigs. Why? Because it's the SAFEST way for EVERYONE involved: me AND the pigs. Pigs scream. They screech. They squeal. They make dozens of different sounds and noises. It doesn't automatically mean they're crying or screaming for help. I LOVE pigs. Anyone who's been around here for a while knows they're my favorite animal (don't tell Daisy). I love showing people how smart they are, how much personality they have, and how downright FUN they can be. Their confidence is something I genuinely admire! That being said, I would NEVER intentionally do anything to hurt a pig. Heck, I have trouble even tapping Daisy on the bum, and that's a perfectly normal thing to do with cows. 😂 I'm a firm believer that animals only know the life you've given them. They aren't sitting around thinking, "Gosh, I wish someone from Hawaii would've bought me. I would've loved to live somewhere warm!" or "I really wanted to live until I was 30." They know the life they're living. They know the care they're receiving. They know whether they're comfortable, fed, safe, and treated well. And if I've given them a good life, I feel confident in my decisions. There are no factory slaughterhouses here. No long, miserable lives. They get to live good lives, with good care, right up until their last day. They don't know that day is coming. Those 15 piglets are going to help feed MULTIPLE families. Many families went in together to purchase them. Their young children get to learn about raising animals, food, responsibility, and where their food comes from, just like mine did. I don't post videos to promote veganism, nor do I pretend to be a sanctuary. I've made that very clear. That's not what Dakota Funny Farm is. Part of my WHY is showing people that real farmers are some of the BIGGEST animal lovers I know. And here's something I wish more people understood: Loving animals and raising animals for food are not mutually exclusive. You can love an animal, care for it, respect it, give it a wonderful life, and still understand its purpose on your farm. Those things don't cancel each other out. I'll probably never change everyone's mind, and that's okay. But I will always stand by responsible farming, raising animals with care, and making decisions that I believe are best for the animals and the people involved. And I'll say this one more time: More farmers have helped save my animals' lives than any animal activist ever has. I won't apologize for that, either. ❤️
