This is my dad. ❤️ 2½ years ago, he had a devastating stroke that left him paralyzed on his right side. Before that, he was incredibly active and independent. My mom has been able to keep him at home because of this one incredible piece of equipment. It’s a Sara Stedy. Honestly, it has been more valuable to us than any hospital bed or other medical equipment we could have bought. The other two pieces of equipment that have been absolutely essential are his lift chair and wheelchair. ♿️ I truly don’t think my dad would have made it this long in long-term care. He was incredibly depressed during rehab, even though between my siblings, my mom, and me, someone was there with him no less than 18 hours a day. Now, even though his body is giving him more challenges, he STILL wants to be active. ❤️ He’s lucky to have most of his mental faculties. He struggles a little with short-term memory, but he is still my happy-go-lucky dad who is easy to love and easy to get along with. I’m incredibly grateful that I get to spend this time with him. Is caregiving a LOT of work? Absolutely. Would I do it again? Absolutely. Will I ever regret this time with my dad? Never. ❤️ I’m doing all of this while trying to rebuild and reshape my farm business. 🐄🌱 It’s a crazy season of life, but I wouldn’t trade it. ❤️ Like this video and follow along if you want more tips, tricks, and real-life experiences about keeping an elderly parent at home. #Caregiving #FamilyCaregiver #ElderCare #AgingAtHome #CaregiverSupport
