Girl I waited four whole years after I got married to change my name. I hated the patriarchal expectations, and doing the dmv, ss, bank, etc. is a lot. And why do I have to do that but he doesn’t?! eventually I decided I wanted to have the same name as my kids 😅

I got married right before the pandemic, changed my name w the social security office, everything shut down, then I lost our marriage certificate, then I had to change it w the DMV but had to wait on the marriage certificate, it was a mess and 4 years later I finally changed my name 😭
