@jasonchumusic: The restraining order issued by Justice King is a much-needed victory for Chinatown, but it *is* only temporary - and only applies to the unreviewed late-night/early-morning construction work. Daytime construction continues unabated, even as residents' complaints about hazardous particulates and early-morning noise go unaddressed by City Hall.
Wait, so they’re building this next to a senior home center. Why would they do that? That really doesn’t even make any sense 🤦🏾♀️

This project is racist to begin with. The city knows many Chinatown residents face language barriers and lack the political power to fight back. Black neighborhoods have already been criticized for being saddled with shelters and jails, so now what? Let’s target the Chinese community because they’re supposedly quiet and easy to push around! Would they dare pull this in a nice, wealthy white neighborhood? This is exactly what exploiting a marginalized community looks like.
