Sooo, you can actually call and email your congressmen. You can protest. Also, you can vote against them in the next election lol. Politicians have to constantly get reelected, which means they have to do things their constituents would want, or not care enough abt to remember. Most politicians want to win their reelection, so they’re not gonna do anything too crazy. I also think you might want to do some research how American politics works. A president serving out their second term is a “lame duck” they aren’t beholden to the voters anymore, they don’t have to fulfill their campaign promises. However that could hurt their political party, like what we’d probably see in the 26 midterms.
