Stephanie :
A woman should not enter a relationship simply to become someone’s unpaid domestic worker, reproductive partner, and personal servant. If a man expects a woman to bear his children, cook, clean, provide emotional support, satisfy him sexually, and put her own life on hold to serve his needs, then he needs to understand the sacrifices and labour involved let him pay for it.
Interestingly, some men argue that there is nowhere in the Bible where a man is explicitly commanded to provide for his wife. Well, if that is the argument you choose to make, then women should also stop accepting the idea that they are automatically obligated to provide unlimited domestic, sexual, reproductive, and emotional services for free. You cannot selectively interpret Scripture to excuse your responsibilities while using it to impose obligations on women.
and rightly so. Paying bills does not automatically mean you are taking care of a woman while dismissing everything she contributes through unpaid domestic labour, pregnancy, childbirth, childcare, and emotional support.
