@mealswithabi: Eat or pass? Swallow doesn’t have to be boring, this oat and plantain swallow is fiber packed and tastes soooooo good 🤤. An absolute must try Blender @Buchymix Nigeria
Both plantain and Oat are not full of fibre.

Why does it feel like we Africans are overdoing things sometimes? All of a sudden, we’re giving our local foods names that don’t even exist. Since when did swallow become a meal in Africa?😂
Let’s take a look at other cultures. The Chinese have sushi, and whether you’re eating it in China, Ghana, or anywhere else in the world, it’s still called sushi. Italian food remains Italian food. The Americans don’t have to rename their traditional dishes every time they introduce them to another culture.
So why do we Africans feel the need to constantly rebrand, rename, and make our own things sound different?
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with modernising our culture or introducing our food to the world, but we shouldn’t have to lose our original identity in the process.
My concern is simple: In trying so hard to make our culture appealing to others, are we gradually losing touch with who we are?
We should be proud of our identity, our language, our food, and our heritage. We don’t always have to rename what is already ours.
