@qwiktwik.com: Updated your graphics driver? The old one is still on your PC. Windows keeps every driver version you've ever installed in C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore, and on this laptop the same AMD driver is stored 8 times. How to remove old drivers on Windows 10 and 11: 1. Press Win + R and type cleanmgr /d C 2. Press Ctrl + Shift + Enter (Disk Cleanup opens as admin, with system files) 3. Scroll to Device driver packages (2.70 GB here) and make sure it's ticked 4. Click OK, then Delete Files Windows keeps the newest version of each driver, only the old ones go. Save this for when your C: drive is full. Or let QwikTwik clean install your graphics driver and wipe the old copies first. #windows11 #windows10 #drivers #storage #pctips
This video is somewhat misleading. Running `cleanmgr /d c` doesn't automatically find or remove every outdated AMD, NVIDIA, or other driver package stored on your computer. In my case, the "Device driver packages" option doesn't even appear!
If you actually want to see what old third-party drivers Windows has stored, open PowerShell as Administrator and run:
`pnputil /enum-drivers`
This lists the driver packages, including their providers, versions, and dates, so you can identify older packages that may no longer be needed.
You can also check `C:\AMD` for leftover AMD driver installation files, which can often be removed without affecting your currently installed drivers.
Just don't delete driver packages blindly. Some older versions may still be required.
**A clean system is a happy system, but Disk Cleanup isn't a magical vacuum cleaner for every obsolete driver Windows has accumulated over the years.** 🙄

I use a free program called DriverStoreExplorer. it shows u all drivers, has an option to select all old drivers, delete old drivers, and a force delete for the stubborn ones that need special perms to delete.

?. never delete old drivers after your laptop or pc updates. this is the worst possible advice you can give someone. If there is a problem with the driver and it is unstable especially at the kernel level and you delete it, you now have no way of reverting or going back to it to make it stable again. Newer does not always mean better and no two systems are the same. You want to cause massive problems for people thats the number 1 way to do it. The only time you delete archived drivers is when the system is stable, has no conflicts or issues, and even then I would wait because the next driver update might crash your OS.

Heads up, this video is misleading. Windows already has a built-in tool called Disk Cleanup that can remove old, unused driver packages. Search for it in Start, click “Clean up system files,” and look for “Device driver packages.” You don’t need to download another program for that. Having older drivers stored on your PC doesn’t mean they’re all running together or slowing down your games. This mainly frees up storage, so don’t mistake it for an FPS boost. Don’t let a basic Windows cleanup tip turn into a sales pitch for software you don’t need.
