I had someone at the bakery I work at want something the next day and it was less than 24 hours and then they were like well you can't do 22 hours and I said unfortunately not.

I got yelled at by a customer cause I told them I couldn’t do their wedding cake for pickup 12 hours later “BUT ITS FOR MY WEDDING”. And it wasn’t even that they got a messed up cake from someone else, they literally thought they could just get a tiered cake basically same day 💀

Another thing I wish customers understood is I cannot see another store’s orders. I don’t know if they have availability or not because the number of times I’m asked well. Can another store do it? Bestie I don’t know. I don’t work at that one.

Girl! its insane the amount of people who forget or were too busy to place their order in a timely manner.. That persons bday is the same day every year. I bet their phone is in there hand more than 50% of their day so they can set a reminder!

Yes! I’m also a grocery store decorator. I think a 24 hr policy is amazing! And yet people will still try to push you on it.

Our online does next day.. they can place it at 11pm for 4pm the next day.. And when we don't have a decorator scheduled that's a problem

I work at a grocery store in the bakery department. The amount of people who think we can do a fully custom sheet cake with 3 different fillings, 5 different colored frostings, roses, and extra stuff in less than an hour is crazy. We have one person who has to make the 40 custom orders of everyone who actually planned ahead. You can't wait until the last minute and expect the order to be done in a minute.

As a cake decorator it’s not my job to make your emergency my emergency. You should have planned ahead of time instead of making me stress about it sorry. Every once in a while I’ll make a exception if the customer is nice to me but if they’re demanding it I’m not doing it

I’m 100% on your side but it’s possible if you kept saying “policy” that she thought you were still able to do it but were just refusing to. I would’ve said we do require x-hours/days notice and then explain you’re already booked up for the day and can’t squeeze an extra order in.

At Whole Foods online orders are sent to headquarters, sorted and emailed to the store. It’s 8 to 24 hours before we even know you placed an order.
