@sarah.erin.thole: Low HRV before your period? Your hormones may be part of the picture. Comment GUIDE for my Holistic Hormone Health Guide + to join the waitlist for my March 28-Day Hormone & Energy Reset. Heart rate variability, or HRV, measures the variation in time between heartbeats. Your smart watch or Oura ring use it as one input when estimating stress and recovery. But your menstrual cycle can affect it. Studies have found that HRV often runs lower during the luteal phase—the time after ovulation when progesterone rises. That means a dip may partly reflect normal hormonal physiology. It doesn’t automatically mean poor recovery, low progesterone or a nervous system problem. And a lower score doesn’t automatically mean you’re fully recovered, either. CONTEXT matters. Look at your trends alongside: ✨ Your cycle. ✨ Sleep and energy. ✨ Training and soreness. ✨ Illness, alcohol and daily stress. ✨ How you actually FEEL. During perimenopause, changing cycles can make those patterns harder to interpret. Your HRV cannot diagnose a hormone imbalance. It’s one clue to consider alongside the rest of your health. This is what I want for women: more understanding of their bodies and more confidence using that information. Comment GUIDE for your next step. 💗 #menopause #HRV #Progesterone #creatorsearchinsights #perimenopauselife

All the pieces of the puzzle need to be looked at. Journaling can help find the patterns. Pay attention to how you feel throughout your cycle.
