@hungrypsychologist: Healthcare burnout is incredibly common, and it's not surprising given what doctors, nurses, and other caregivers go through. Healthcare workers deal with angry patients, life-or-death stakes, moral injury, and more. So, due to popular demand in the comments, here are some games that might help you recover after a long shift, recommended by a psychologist. 🎮 Video Games for Healthcare Burnout #healthcareworkers #burnoutrecovery #gaming #videogames #burnout

I swear Animal Crossing got me through all of my shifts during covid. I'd surround myself with cute and happy villagers, they all were happy to see me, we hung out and fished, and I designed a perfect island and home

Burned out RN here and I love Palia! Build a house, garden, adventure, build rapport with the townsfolk, gossip, collect flowers.

Highly recommend animal crossing. Low pressure. You can spend ur time doing tasks / dev ur island if u want but u could also spend all ur time just collecting things or just decorating , etc

“Thank goodness you’re here” or whatever it’s called. That was really helpful for a friend of mine.

Mad Max Fury Road is the chillest most soothing game where you can see your progress as you go. I play it at least once a year.

I work in inpatient psych, masters is in clinical psych. Planet Zoo 1 or 2, it’s like the old school zoo tycoon, building a zoo, taking care of animals, etc. if you’re into building and like animals, those games are it, which is similar to minecraft. then Stardew Valley, Faefarm, Coral Island or Tales of The Shire, all cozy farming esque games, low stakes cleaning up a farm or home and positive, friend like interactions with the NPCs. love this kind of content 💙

I’m a night shift RN who works on post surgical unit and I am mentally burnt and exhausted after caring for 6 patients. I’ll play Disney dreamlight valley on my recovery days, it’s nice an simple and who wouldn’t want to hangout in their own Disney village.

Subnautica? Where there’s giant ass Leviathans who pop up out of no where and are the reason I have Thalassophobia and Megalohydrothalassophobia (yes it’s a thing, google it) now?
