@socialcap: The day you retire is a great time to renegotiate those bills that are creeping up. Because, yes, they creep up in full force. #money #wealth #finance #tyler
Tell me why I have been with Comcast for internet for 20 years. 136 a month. I called to switch to fidium. MAGICALLY they got me to 60 a month 🙄

The grand irony here is that these tend to get more expensive the longer you’re a customer. So much for consumer loyalty! Call and ask for retention and say you’re moving on if you don’t get the intro rates. It costs more to lose you than to lower your rates.

I canceled TV. I only pay for Internet $51.50 a month. I use my iPad all day long when I need to be online I will never again pay $300 a month to Comcast cable that is a rip off.

Just make sure when checking home and auto insurance, the new quotes don't cut coverages you still need. Normally thats how new agents can get you a cheaper rate.

I’ve shopped around for auto insurance and Geico still is the cheapest for my family. I have been with them for well over 10 years. Once a year I call around, Geico is still the cheapest for us. In fact, it went down in September.

You are correct. My internet/cable service offered new customers better rates then me as a customer for over 30yrs. They would not lower my rate. I CANCELED my service and went with a new company and got their new customer rates. My OLD service wants me back at a lower rate. NOT GONNA HAPPEN.

I think that a lot of these issues only exist in a totally disfunctional, anti-consumer market like the US.. 😇

Do you suggest we shop insurance if we are with PURE insurance? We did just increase our HO deductible to $25,000 our cars to $2,500 to lower annual premiums per our broker’s recommendation.

Not true about car insurance and homeowners. We’ve had State Farm since we got married. I’ve checked pricing for both a few times over the last several years. No company comes close to what we pay!!!

You forgot to add if you pay for storage. Storage companies charge more the longer you stay.
