@cbsatlanta: ALERT: Hall County officials are warning residents after a person came in contact with a dog that tested positive for rabies in the North Hall area of Clearmont. The county is posting warning signs and asking residents to report animals acting abnormally. Officials remind residents to keep pets vaccinated and avoid wildlife, as rabies is found in Georgia year-round. Rabies attacks the central nervous system and is nearly always fatal once symptoms develop. Unvaccinated pets exposed to a rabid animal must be quarantined for four months. The Hall County Animal Shelter on Barber Road is offering $10 vaccinations Tuesday through Friday.
