Not true. Many people resort to the silent treatment because if they say anything, the other person gaslight or goes immediately into defense mode sometimes it’s better to just stay silent.

My birthgiver gave me silent treatment for two weeks when I was 14 because I snuck out and spent the night at my bfs house. Sure, I knew she would be mad, but pretending I didn't exist for that long was just so weird.. And then she just pretended as if nothing ever happened and talked to me like normal

i think the prob is the other one doesn't know how to recognize a problem or an issue and doesn't know how to take accountability. So silence is the result. when you go silent, it's nornally a reaction of being tired and drained.

My last conversation was that I couldn’t keep checking in daily; that I was exhausted. Three days in a row I called she didn’t answer. Now going on one month of silent treatment. I was told that I should reach out. I can’t do this anymore. 💯 done!!!
