It honestly amuses me how the writers keep pinning all of the Fatui’s atrocities on Dottore, as if the others are suddenly innocent and we can just casually help them out and have tea together. I genuinely don’t know what happened to the game’s storytelling, but it’s almost as if the writing team changed after Inazuma.

The Fatui are also hypocrites. Can you imagine my discomfort when Tartaglia(who is very friendly to us as if he didn't try to destroy Liyue Harbor) say we murdered Signora in front of Odette? I genuinely expected for Odette to hate us.

The traveler being a hypocrite is not good writing, because they weren't written intentionally to be a hypocrite. The writing sucks because the game is designed to make us friends with all the playable characters, no matter if that means ignoring previously established lore.

Am I the only one that never felt like the Traveler was actually friends with or even cared about anyone? Like, for me it was kinda clear that ppl care for, admire and respect them, but the Traveler themselves only actually cared about finishing the journey to understand their sibling, to get answers, and for that they’ll cozy with and help whoever they have to, but never really connect with any of them
