@gonetothesnowdogs: I am so sorry to have to share this with all of you again, not even four months later. On October 26th, our sweet Kira passed away. We are officially down to one dog, and honestly, it just doesn’t feel real yet. We thought she was just experiencing some minor back pain from playing too hard with Eleanor, but things escalated incredibly fast and turned into a nightmare we never saw coming. We had taken her to our local vet and even the emergency vet, but when she started having severe fainting spells, we rushed her three and a half hours downstate to Detroit. They found an inoperable mass on her heart. There was nothing we could do, and because she was in crisis, we had to let her go. Jamie drove Eleanor down so we could all be together for those final moments. Eleanor is an only dog now, for the first time in 18 years, we only have one dog in the house, and she is feeling pretty lost without her buddies. I know this year has been so devastating, and I appreciate every single one of you who continues to support us. We will keep moving forward, and yes, eventually we will find a friend for Eleanor because she cannot be alone. Thank you for being here, for loving Kira, and for sending us so much kindness. i lost my baby 1/21/25. I fell in love with huskies through YOUR channel. got my lacy. she was only 8. I am so sorry for your loss, friend. it's a pain like no other. and I can't imagine how you're feeling after Memphis too😭 I know you mentioned getting another puppy for Eleanors wellbein. if travel isn't too much of a concern for you, there's a LOT of huskies in my county in shelters that I wish I could rescue. so many amazing ones I think you could take a look at❤️please stay strong❤️
