I adore the mcu, I’ve been here since day 1 of Ironman, but the rose colored glasses people have for those first 2 phases in comparison to the last two have been crazy. We have gotten more good to great mcu projects post endgame than we did before endgame

I don't think quality wise they're different but with the 5 projects of marvel you already knew where it's going with DC you aren't even close to figure out what is happening people still don't even know what's canon and where to start watching

While this is true the early mcu was super hit or miss, the point of it is that the mcu was very structured and straight to the point where as the dcu seems to be going nowhere understandable with a majority of its projects

i have ONLY seen content creators take time comparing the first phases of both with the intention of pointing how the dcu is doing better than the mcu was in that time (wich is fully up for debate since i dont think that the first phase of the dcu is done yet) and that kinda pmo, there is 0 reason to compare them since both are very different in execution and purpose and the circunstances they both happened

The most cohesive universe that DC has made was their animated universe. They could have just copied that and been more successful than making random shows such as the Jimmy Olsen show

People really forget how underwhelming Hulk, Thor, and Captain America were at the time of their release. The DCU projects have been higher quality on average...and definitely have a lot better commentary on social and political topics.

exactly. I remember how early people used to talk about how marvel had a villain problem and how a lot of their origin movies were just remakes of iron Man. also, I think a lot of these characters showing up in each other's movies did a lot of heavy lifting. I remember reading review about the incredible hulk and the whole review was about iron Man showing up at the end of the movie.
