I personally wouldn’t, my husband and I looked into this recently and overall it wouldn’t been a bad financial decision. It seems like it helps because payment is lower but you’ll still be paying a ton of interest over time. If you want to knock off interest keep your initial loan and make additional principal payments each month, with a longer term you’re not saving more like you think you are and when initial loan is paid off your credit will take a hit , because it’s gonna wipe away the payment history from that loan and open a new account. Does this make sense?

id say no. but do you currently have gap/warranty on truck that is tied to loan? what are specific terms? if you do it keep paying the amt of payment now and if it allows you to "skip" payment pay it then to, does that make sense.

If you do then make sure you keep paying the five hundred every month plus the micro payments not the payment amount they are giving you.

Honestly we got a 10000 dollar loan to pay off my husbands truck and dropped our monthly payment from 400 to 250 plus we paid off a credit card it made it easier a little I guess haha

Pay attention to the over all balance verses what you owe now!! It could be good if it isn’t costing you more in the long run! Just my opinion! lol

Yes do it, because if worst case scenario and you can’t do this anymore or financial issues come up, you have a lower monthly payment to make

No don’t do it- I think it will add to the length of your loan term - if the term ends BEFORE the term of the current loan -

yes but I would pay the same amount that you're paying now on the truck but towards the new loan instead of like $300 because you'll pay it off faster

That’s not a huge interest savings and the payment is that much cheaper because you are adding more time to the term of the loan. You are paying less in interest now with the balance paid down than you will be on the current loan.

yes. I did something similar quite a few years ago. lower interest and throw everything at it so that its paid off quickly then the extra time doesnt affect you but more of your payment goes onto the principle.

I’m really not sure how it all works, but I have always been told to go for the lowest interest possible or to try and stay away from any interest rate. So honestly, it’s up to you. I’m kinda here to comment to help get you paid😘 Sorry I can’t help more, i’m so bad with understanding interest rates etc
