@realericmoutsoss: Let’s talk about “voting”

SmilinMama GEN❌ :

I ain’t voting anymore

Carly Wilhite :

When you're only allowed to choose between two predetermined options, you're choosing between what's offered, not what's possible. That's the illusion of choice. It's like a parent giving their child two options, both of which lead to the outcome the parent already wanted. The child feels empowered because they got to choose, but the real decision was made before they were ever given a choice. You're not choosing the outcome. You're choosing which path gets you to someone else's desired outcome. And this is exactly why I believe we need a revolution. Voting within a system that controls the choices isn't meaningful freedom. It's the illusion of having a voice while the people in power maintain control. Real change requires more than choosing between the options we're handed. It requires challenging the system that decides our options in the first place.
