Finished with fragrant garlic, fresh rosemary, thyme, and melted butter, every bite is tender, juicy, and packed with incredible flavor. Simple ingredients, beautiful caramelization, and pure steak perfection! 🤤🔥 Half Recipe 1 large thick-cut ribeye steak (approximately 1½–2 inches thick) 1 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil 2 tsp kosher salt 1 tsp freshly cracked black pepper 1 tsp garlic powder ½ tsp smoked paprika (optional) 3 tbsp unsalted butter 4 garlic cloves, lightly crushed 2 fresh rosemary sprigs 2 fresh thyme sprigs Flaky sea salt for finishing Pat the ribeye steak completely dry using paper towels. Season generously on all sides with kosher salt, freshly cracked black pepper, garlic powder, and optional smoked paprika. Allow the steak to rest at room temperature for approximately 20–30 minutes. Heat a heavy cast-iron skillet over medium-high to high heat until very hot. Add olive oil and carefully place the ribeye into the skillet. Sear undisturbed for approximately 2–3 minutes until a deep golden-brown crust develops. Flip the steak and sear the opposite side. Use tongs to hold the steak on its fat edge to render the fat and create an even richer flavor. Reduce the heat slightly and add butter, crushed garlic, rosemary, and thyme. Once the butter melts and becomes fragrant, tilt the skillet and continuously spoon the golden garlic herb butter over the steak. Continue cooking, turning occasionally, until the steak reaches your desired internal temperature. Use a meat thermometer for accuracy. For medium-rare, aim for 130–135°F before resting. Remove the steak from the skillet and transfer it to a clean wooden cutting board. Allow it to rest for 5–10 minutes so the juices redistribute throughout the meat. Finish with flaky sea salt and spoon some of the remaining garlic herb butter over the top. Serve whole or slice against the grain to reveal the beautifully juicy interior. Pair with roasted potatoes, grilled asparagus, creamy mashed potatoes, or your favorite steakhouse sides for an unforgettable dinner! 🥩🧈 Want the full recipe?
