@cbsnews: A grand jury in Texas indicted an ICE officer Friday on a second-degree felony charge for allegedly running over a man near Houston earlier in October. Harris County District Attorney Sean Teare said the Mexican national who was hit is "seriously injured and hospitalized to this day" and has no criminal record. In the immediate aftermath of the incident, an ICE spokesperson had said in a statement to CBS News that the man ran in front of the ICE vehicle. The indicted agent "was one of the surge hires in August of 2025 for ICE," Teare said, adding, "I've reviewed thousands of job applications and resumes for law enforcement officers from around this state, and I'm not familiar with a single agency that would have hired this person."
