🤔 higher interest rates from here are not going to affect inflation. This is because home prices are already severely inflated compared to where salaries are Consumers are tapped out at 3.5%-4% on a 500k mortgage, they have already stopped consuming so much when interest rates went from 1.8-3.5%. So higher rates from here will have less and less effect on rate of inflation because consuming has already slowed. watch Amazon, McDonalds and Walmart...earnings are in steady decline. higher rates is only going to start breaking stuff and wont have the desired effect.

But Canadians don’t have money to spend to raise inflation. Average Canadians aren’t pushing inflation up it’s the Canadian government that is spending our tax payers money in corruption like sending money outside Canada esp Ukraine and policies that are screwing canadians socio economical ways

I always respect your analyses! It’s worth to mention that this time they raised interest rates to cover for other expenses they’ve and they are incurring around the world like the war with Russia (totally provoked by Europe and paid by ppl) as well as compensating for lost streams of revenue for the global left like losing Venezuela and Iran. Look back and you’ll see they’ve done this before. Over and over. So next time before voting SO with the promise of free stuff, first ask them where they’re planning to get the money from. If the answer is the RICH, rest assured you’ll be screwed.

Raise the interest rate, does depress stuff. Especially the people first and foremost. Well ya because their pockets are first to be fleeced.

But why does Carney’s rely on the BOC to reduce inflation? How about reducing taxes? Wouldn’t that lower the cost of goods?

But Ron the banks have a choice not to raise rates so saying they don’t want to isn’t exactly accurate.
