🚨 Le Havre Head coach Didier Digard on Le Havre’s 5-1 defeat to PSG: 🗣️ Didier Digard: “Honestly, coming into this game, we never expected to lose by such a margin. We knew PSG were a very strong team, but we also believed we could compete. And for the opening stages, I think we showed that. “We started well, had the upper hand, scored first and controlled the ball. We were moving it nicely, finding spaces and making them work. When you score first against a team like PSG, you naturally try to do everything possible to protect that lead. “But then the game changed, and we were faced with a much bigger task than we had prepared for. That task was Achraf Hakimi. “Watching him tonight, I don’t think he approached this game like it was just another fixture. He played like a man who had something to prove. Every time he moved forward, there was danger. Every time he got on the ball, we had to worry. “Two assists, three goals. From a right-back! At some point, I looked at the scoreline and asked my assistant, ‘What position does Hakimi actually play?’ He told me he was a right-back. [laughs] “I said, ‘Are you sure? Because the way this man is finishing, I thought we were playing against a centre-forward!’ “It’s not just the goals. It’s his movement, the timing of his runs, the confidence to attack the box and the intelligence to know exactly when to arrive. You cannot prepare for a full-back and end up dealing with someone who has the instincts of a top striker. “Of course, we have to look at ourselves. We weren’t good enough defensively, and conceding five goals is something we must take responsibility for. We cannot hide behind the quality of our opponents. There are lessons to take from this performance. “But PSG can be proud of what they produced tonight. They were the better team, and Hakimi was phenomenal. Sometimes you face a player who makes an already difficult game feel impossible, and tonight that was our experience. “He is a rare footballer. People sometimes look at his position and judge him as a defender, but his influence goes far beyond that. He can defend, create, attack and finish. There are not many players in world football who can give you all of that from one position. “When a right-back scores three goals and provides two assists, you don’t spend the entire evening asking how your team conceded five. You also have to stand back and appreciate that you’ve witnessed something extraordinary.” “I’m sure he will receive plenty of recognition after this performance, and rightly so. Hakimi deserves every bit of it.” [ This is the source @UTD_Seth001]#psg #hakimi #france #creatorsearchinsights #capcut - @anyi.manchester.u
