pavi was glowing green to heal her. one of the few times I've seen that specific color was when the lion turtles used energy bending on aang. even when korra and aang used energy bending it was always a white/ blue color like raava. I'm pretty sure the green was caused by chi specifically the heart chakra or a spirit.

Or it could be like instinct? Like some benders, bending activates on instinct when endanger? Like how katara got healing just from putting her hand in water? Or how Korra got air bending when Amon was about to blood bend her and also like her desperation to protect mako. Pretty sure it comes from desperation and like a breakthrough

The Cataclysm was started by Vaatu possessing Korra. We know that Vaatu was born again from Raava, inside Korra. Vaatu likely eventually possessed Korra in a time of desperate need (we’ve seen avatars enter the avatar state in dire moments). Korra was likely made vulnerable in battle which gave Vaatu the opening needed to take control of Korra and start the cataclysm. That’s why we see Korra in the avatar state during the flashback of her destroying republic city. Vaatu likely also killed Korra in the cataclysm *forcing* the avatar cycle to regenerate him in a separate host independent from Raava’s influence, enter Nisha and Pavi. After this seasons finale it is absolutely clear that Pavi hosts Raava (hence the white glow we saw protect her from the falling boulders) and Nisha hosts Vaatu. Before killing Korra, Vaatu seems to have misaligned Raava’s chakras by sealing them in seven different locations, the seven havens (this also seems to be confirmed by Agam when ‘assessing’ Pavi’s chakras). Pavi’s mission is to realign Raava’s chakras (her chakras) in order to restore the avatar state. Nisha’s arc is unclear, I’m certain she won’t have to unlock her chakras in the same way that Pavi does since she hosts Vaatu, the one who caused all of this. This is also affirmed by us never having seen Nisha in the same avatar spiritual plane that we’ve seen Pavi in twice now, as well as her staying behind in Illhora while Pavi leaves to unlock the next chakra. If I had to guess, Nisha might feed in to her negative emotions and learn more about Vaatu/become the antagonist of this show. Karthik might not be the “perfect” influence we’d hope for Nisha. We saw him become overwhelmed in the last episode where Jae had to step in. TLDR: Pavi and Jae will restore the avatar state and try to restore the planet, Nisha and Karthik will feed into Vaatu’s influence and try to stop them.
