maybe get some layers, It will get rid of alot of the dead stuff but keep alot of length and continue to have layers refreshed as it grows till your back to full health.

As a person who has been working in the hair industry. Split Ends need to go. There is no mend for it. Ypu can make it look nice but the integrity of your hair is compromised. I recommend a hair journey and that includes cutting it. Ive spent 2 years regrowing and fixing my hair. I dont regret my choice
