I think it’s CRAZY that people are blaming Black Americans when we don’t even know who took his life. The area where he passed was predominantly African and Caribbean, so why are Black Americans automatically being blamed? And the idea that Black Americans should be gatekeeping African culture is just as crazy. Like it or not, Black Americans were forcibly separated from their homeland and stripped of so much of their ancestral history and culture. We didn’t choose that separation. Our ancestors were stolen from Africa. So why are we turning this into another opportunity to divide people who share history, roots, and a connection to the same continent?
