@gabectomy: I don’t know why she thought that would work. People really will do anything but pay for what they want. #storytime #customersbelike #customerservice #retailproblems #retail
as a banker, the amount of times a day I have to tell people that I can't just give people access to an account because you're the person's spouse/child etc is insane. and half the accounts have alerts that some family member has tried to gain unauthorized access and to under no circumstances give any information out. like I'm not losing my job so u can steal from your family

That's the way I'd have handled it at the start of my career when I gave more of a 💩. Now I'd have just said "needs to go to corporate, these are the contact details, bye".

I don’t even know how many times I’ve had to explain, “just because someone else broke the rules doesn’t mean I’m going to, especially while talking on a recorded phone line about it.” [Tears of joy]

I had someone try to buy iPhones to an account of a guy i know just passed away they kept saying "bill it to the estate" the reason I know the guy died is because he fell in our parking lot and the cops that responded told us after we were helping him.

See I have PoA for my mother and I have not only one huge packet of paperwork, but 2. One for moneies and the other for health. And getting a PoA on an account is a massive pita for goot reason because it's so easily abused.

That’s what I would have done, I had to deny a widow access to her late husband’s account because she didn’t have the correct paperwork filed and wasn’t an authorized user. A handwritten note isn’t going to fly.

I work in a tyre shop that stores customers' summer or winter wheels depending on the season.
A company that were our customer and stored wheels for six cars went bankrupt, and they didn't pay their fees for over a year (coming in to roughly $1200).
The boss made several trips to our storefront and tried to threaten our workers to give out the wheels, specifically to three of the cars that were leased.
Saying stuff like "you can't legally keep our wheels here".
Every time we showed her the contract she signed, that ever customer signs, that clearly says that 8 months after the last payment, the wheels are ours.
In the end, someone from the leasing company came down to buy out the wheels for their three cars, but we kept the ones for the other three.

This was decades ago and nothing on that level, but my grandmother turned off one of her children’s access to her video rental card, and that child proceeded to talk to the people in the reactivating it on the ground her mother was senile and that she didn’t know what was going on and that they took care of the account and yeah, it was complete BS. They just really wanted to rent a video that day.🤣

People people people the one thing in life you cannot be lazy about is having proper filed documentation for your loved ones and your finances. If you have to be power of attorney over a family members affairs make sure you have the proper paperwork have it notarized. Keep it updated. Keep it secure have both financial and medical power of attorney attorneys if you need to handle states become a Fiduciary if you need to handle your veterans affairs become their Fiduciary assigned by the VA put your loved ones Estate in a revocable trust and put yourself as the beneficiary so you have immediate access to the account upon death of your loved one if you don’t do the simple things your life will be hell until you do

I had customers who'd lie and say our other pharmacy did the thing I'd just said was illegal for them.
I'd pick up the phone and ask which one because maybe I'm missing something.
For some reason they never told me which pharmacy it was 🤷🏾♀️😄😄😄

My sister had POA over our moms stuff before she passed and it was a pain in the ass to get anything done (understandably). Definitely not as easy as walking in the door with a (maybe) signature.
