Mara | Twin Momma :
We ordered the Mimi bed (little dreamer) for this reason. Able to close them in, shouldn’t be able to crawl out BUT this wait has been awful. Order presale in July for mid/late August. We are now almost November and are supposed to get it this week supposedly. So annoyed with this process. Just prewarning 😅

just food for thought. if they are climbing out of the crib they WILL climb out of the floor bed. just transition to a regular bed that's lower to the ground, save yourself the money in the long term.

We have a mattress on the floor with a bumper on one side and it’s against the wall. So it’s still pretty safe. They don’t have toys or anything in their room and rarely sleep without me! It gives them more room to be independent .

from a seasoned mom, the pink one is cutesy, not practical.

Could you do a tent thing on top of their crib now? So they can’t climb out but get to stay together

Absolutely no regrets doing a queen size floor bed for my twins!! My father actually made this for us and it’s perfect. A lot of nights they request my partner sleep with them, but it’s soo cozy in there he doesn’t mind 😍

My friend has twins she got one of those large gated playpens and just put a mattress in that. That way the kids could still sleep together and if they did get out of bed it was a smaller free space. She also only put books, stuffed animals/pillows and their tonie box in the playpen area.

If you unhook the piece that holds the mattress up from the crib frame and put it on the ground, that might buy you more time with the double crib. As long as there’s not a gap that they can get body parts stuck in between the mattress and the bottom of the crib, you should be fine. That’s what I did when I needed to buy myself a little bit more time with my crib before moving to a toddler bed

You can do the pink bed and then either add a bumper or a side rail that hooks under the mattress

Our 18 month old decided she doesn’t like her crib anymore. This is where she has been sleeping 😅😅😅
We had the toddler beds close enough where I could sit between them and hold both their hands.

I started my daughter off with her mattress on the floor when she was first learning to walk and climb and once she was better I added the bedframe. We also have tile so I bought those foam puzzle pieces for her floor so that if she rolled off she would be okay. This wasn’t ever an issue though bc she sleeps on a full size bed. Her room is fully baby proofed. All outlets are covered and her bookshelf and play kitchen are anchored to the wall.

I say toddler bed since the floor bed has gaps, and I think their legs and hands and heads could get stuck in that

So I did toddler bed but I took toys out of his room temporarily to avoid temptation of getting out the bed but I’d get a floor bed

We have had good luck not having our toddler roam around her room using our hatch sound machine. She also hates having toys in her room, we do play in there occasionally, but she does not have toys and she knows that her room is for sleeping. I think that helps! We moved her to a twin size bed when she turned 3. She loved her crib and never tried to get out, but 3 was time 😂 I trained her, even before her big girl bed, that red light means stay in bed and green means we can get up. Now that she’s in her big bed, she knows the system, and she has literally never gotten out of her big bed. Even if she drops her stuffy, she will not get out to pick it up because the light is red and she loves to follow the rules 😂

I did a toddler bed for my son and he’s love it he used to hate a crib to so it was the best decision I made for him to be in a toddler bed
