Don’t we have an FDA that approves our food to be safe before sold to the public?

Florida claimed arsenic was detected in 28 of 46 candies. What you conveniently left out is that toxicologists questioned the testing methodology, the study didn’t distinguish between more-toxic inorganic arsenic and less-toxic organic forms, and those ridiculous “2½ candy bars per year” figures are NOT FDA safety limits.
Florida used environmental testing methods, and independent researchers subsequently tested popular candies and found no detectable arsenic in their samples.
Even better, Milky Way was among the candies Florida DIDN’T flag.
Arsenic exposure is a legitimate health concern. But detecting a substance, establishing a dangerous dose, and calculating actual health risks are three different things.
