It does still have a reason though. They are very prone to happy tail which is excessive wagging that can break their tail bone or just the skin and it bleeds and can be very problematic. As for they’re ears, when they are upright, they are lesson prone to infection bc when they’re down, they hold moisture more easily

big dog need the ears done not for fighting its more for the dog . big dogs get ear infections having them covered makes it worse. opening up the ears helps that. i wish I did my dog . 97kg and he was all muscle . he died from a vet overdose he trying to clean out his ears

and that is why I dont like docking tails and ears. Say what you want to say, I just think its inhumane/not right because nowadays Dobermans are house dogs and they arent used for hunting. But thats just me tho.

As someone with Great Danes who have tails and ears, and a Doberman without them. not having them is safer because my Danes are constantly hurt themselves and rip their big ears on bushes and literally everything also when they roughhouse the Danes ears always get hurt but not my dobbie! also they have happy tail syndrome where they wag their tails smacking it on everything causing blood splatters everywhere and re opening a wound everytime they get happy! I wish I had them cropped as pups too
