I still believe that as long as Meri signed a sort of "release" Kody COULD'VE adopted those kids even if he stayed married to Meri. The point is that a man can’t adopt a kid into the family without a legal wife’s agreement/consent. And even if Kody needed to divorce Meri, that didn’t mean he had to MARRY Robyn. 🤪

I knew at the time meri was making a huge mistake. I was so upset for her even though she wasn't my fav person. Marriage is a financial commitment, kody and robyn knew it would keep the assets between them two only and meri would be basically left with nothing.

I do also think there’s a big piece that has to do with the kids. I believe Meri would have been genuinely doing it because she thought it was best for them. I’m also not super clear on the rules about kids being sealed to their parents in their faith, but I wonder if there was pressure from that angle as well- so they could all be together in the afterlife too. The OG wives all have said over and over that their main focus was always the family as a whole, and what the children needed
