@sue.oconnell.nbcboston: Patrick Stewart’s Captain Picard helped shape what I expect from leaders: think, listen, tell the truth and challenge your own institution when it’s wrong. That lesson feels especially urgent now. What Picard moment stayed with you? Mine is the speech about who deserves to wear the uniform. Engage. 🖖 #PatrickStewart #RIPPatrickStewart #StarTrek #JeanLucPicard #StarTrekTNG
I'm 70. I saw it all from the beginning.....I can't tell you how many times in my life I paused and thought that the world would be a much better place if it were more Trekkie.....I still think this....

I was 11 when TNG came out. Didn’t even know and I Had not watched the Original series. Picard helped me a lot as my dad was living abroad for 6-9 months a year for like 5 years. He shaped my way of thinking about how to treat people and be mature enough.

I remember watching Star Trek it may have only been one show with my grandmother back in 1967 I believe when we lived in Massachusetts so I may have been watching the same show from the same station and I didn’t know what the time I would become a big Star Trek fan

He really set the example on what a good person truly is. His honesty and deep thought about each situation was so powerful. Best of all Captains.

I was young when they cut the Original off at 70 episodes ….BUMMED and Picard was perfect for that time, and again it gave me hope for a future to aspire too! There were many of his sayings to enjoy deep thoughts

I don't remember the name of the episode But it was the 1 with With the 2 men that the only ones left alive on their planet And half their face was black and the other half white And the simple fact that they hated each other because 1 was white on the right side and 1 was black on the right side. That had a profound effect. That made bigotry ridiculous to me

This is a great tribute. These characters transcended their medium and became a beacon of our potential as a human species.
