You will find residents here are going to correct your pronunciation of Nevada. The first A is pronounced like in the word van. Yes you are correct it comes from the Spanish language but we pronounce it differently as it is the name proper name of a location. The same way you don’t say Los Anjeles for LA or Tejas for Texas.
