The protests coincided with a nationwide strike, with students, farmers and port workers also taking part. Clashes with police broke out, particularly in Turin, as tensions continue to run high. As CBS News' Chris Livesay reports, many demonstrators are also frustrated with Europe's growing military spending, arguing that money should go toward education, housing and healthcare instead.
