⚔️🤟🏾 VALHALLA CALLING — @Ragal Ironbull Cinematic ASL Interpretation | DismedeonASL What if the warriors of the North had a story told through Deaf eyes? When I interpreted Valhalla Calling by Ragal Ironbull, I didn’t approach every lyric as a literal translation. I allowed the music to inspire a visual narrative—one of warriors, survival, identity, and answering the call within yourself. When I heard “calling me home,” I envisioned a warrior awakening to his purpose, reaching out to take hold of his calling. When the lyrics spoke of the “voices of the North,” I thought about what a voice can be beyond sound. I interpreted those voices through signing, allowing them to move through the cold wind as a visual expression of Deaf voices and storytelling. And when the lyrics said “steel in my hand while the longship sails,” I chose to portray a king with a sword in hand. To me, who better to carry the weight of this story than a leader prepared to fight, survive, and stand for his people? These choices were my artistic interpretation, inspired by the music and the story I felt within it. I imagined Deaf warriors with their own voices, their own history, and their own stories of survival. Sometimes, interpreting music means looking beyond the words and asking: What story can I make visible? This is my perspective. This is my storytelling. This is how I feel the music through ASL. 🤟🏾❤️ DismedeonASL — LEARN ASL. FEEL MUSIC. #ASL #CinematicASL #ValhallaCalling #DeafCulture #DismedeonASL
