Saying psychology and philosophy are obsolete because thoughts have physical brain states is like saying a computer program is "obsolete" because you understand silicon chips and electrical voltage. Lower-level mechanics don't erase higher-level emergent properties.

This is so absurd. You metaphysically presuppose methodological materialism to arrive at conclusions. Then after that, you take a dogmatic leap of faith towards ontological materialism. Even at this stage, your entire reasoning is invalid. but. Then, with that metaphysical assumption being a necessary concomitant of your conclusions, you use those conclusions to render your own commitment to those metaphysical assumptions seem illusionary: an impossible task because of the necessary concomitant. If you use these conclusions on neurobiology to invalidate philosophy, then by virtue of that you invalidate ontological materialism, which destroys your own conclusion.
