Thirteen years later, just after turning 18, Juliette bought her very first lottery ticket after her grandfather casually suggested it. The ticket won the $48 million CAD Lotto 6/49 Gold Ball jackpot in January 2023, making her the youngest person in Canadian history to win a major lottery jackpot of that size. Juliette said she wanted to use her new wealth wisely. She planned to attend medical school, become a doctor in Northern Ontario, invest carefully, and continue supporting causes in her community. A girl who once gave away her childhood savings to help strangers ended up winning millions with her first lottery ticket.
