Star players will play the exact same minutes, just a larger percentage of the game. Meaning less jobs for role players.

Why not do 44 minutes? It's a less radical reduction than going to 40 minutes but will still shorten games by a decent amount and add excitement.

Stop messing with the game. These players are largely cuddled and spoiled. There is something else going on that has nothing to do with the length of games or the number of games. The NBA needs to get down to it and figure out what that is. Don’t mess with the rules of the game because then you are messing with the record books.
