Exactly how do they expect AI to be used if no one has any RAM in their own devices? This isn’t where you can say “it’s going to be in the cloud” because you still need adequate RAM to access the cloud.

Technically, this makes sense. If computing is centralized then usage of things like memory will be maximized. When you need to use your computer it will utilize the cloud based memory instead of local memory. When you're not using the cloud base memory it can be used for something else, instead of sitting idle on your desk. This structure, basically a mainframe computer with dumb terminals, is how networks ran for a long time. There are many benefits. Having said that, I don't like the concept of centralized computing for everything
