@thesameerproject: “Eat a balanced diet.” “Avoid processed foods.” “Use less oil.” How are patients supposed to follow this advice when the occupation restricts access to fresh, nutritious food? When families eat whatever they can find or afford? When even the medication they need is difficult to source? Managing a chronic illness requires consistency. The genocide has stripped that away from every part of life. The Sameer Project’s Chronic Disease Medical Campaign brings regular care and free medication directly to displaced patients, helping them stay stable under conditions that make their illnesses harder to manage. On September 15, our team conducted its fifth follow-up visit to Zahrat Al-Shamal and Al-Ribat camps in Deir al-Balah, examining 51 patients and providing free medication for diabetes, hypertension, asthma, heart disease, and other chronic conditions. The team checked blood pressure and blood sugar, reviewed treatment, and offered guidance grounded in the realities patients face. Each Chronic Disease Medical Day costs approximately $700. But this is preventative care - a wise investment when all these cases can turn into life threatening emergencies. Help us keep medication and regular care within reach. Donate to our Medical Campaign so we can continue showing up for patients whose health cannot wait.
