I came to America at the age of 16 without knowing a single word of English. I went to school, but my life was not easy because I couldn’t speak the language. On top of that, I was Haitian🇭🇹, and some Black Americans made my life extremely difficult. They bullied me because of my accent and because I was Haitian. Sometimes, I didn’t even want to go to school anymore. I would go into the bathroom just to cry. 💔 They would constantly tell me to go back to my country. People don’t understand how painful it is to come to a new country struggle with a new language and still have to deal with discrimination from people who should understand what it’s like to be treated differently i was just a young girl trying to learn, grow, and build a better future for myself💔

I can’t get that image of him running for his life out of my head 💔 I keep wondering what was going through his mind. Was he praying for someone to help him? Was he hoping he would make it home and see his father again? The thought alone is enough to break my heart. I wish someone had been there to protect him. Seeing his father cry makes it even more painful. I’m genuinely in tears. This family deserves answers and Javits deserves justice.
