This is the best moment to set my boundaries. I know she expects me to make the first move; she knows my feelings are strong. But how can I do that when I’ve been betrayed in every way, trampled upon by her words, and blamed for the entire failure? How? If I were to do it, I would lose self-respect—and that is something I can no longer afford, because I know my own values and I believe in them. That is my answer. I hold no resentment toward her for lacking these values, as no one ever taught them to her. Now, she has the chance to learn—whether she does so or not is up to her. My actions might reveal the beauty of life, but they cannot mend someone else’s soul if that person does not mend it themselves. That is her task.

Oh yes, exactly—I know all of this. Just as you say. I long for contact, but if I reach out, it will just be a return to old patterns—patterns devoid of respect and understanding—and I don’t want that. I poured so much into the relationship—love, honesty, care, loyalty—all while forgetting about myself. And she ended up turning all of that—my very devotion—against me. No one can teach her respect if she doesn’t come to understand it on her own; it’s exactly as you say, my infinityintuition 😘
