We don't have "demons" we just have ourselves, and all the unhealed parts, hidden truths, and messy vulnerabilities we aren't quite ready to admit to yet. Let's sit with that for a second. It is terrifyingly heavy to come to grips with the fact that we are capable of hurting the people we love with the exact same instrument we love them with. The same heart that holds immense capacity for warmth, devotion, and tenderness is also the one that can lash out, build walls, or cause fractures. Love isn't all soft edges and safe spaces it asks us to look at our own capacity for destruction and sit in the discomfort of it. The human heart is a hungry wolf, driven by passion, longing, and survival, yet it is simultaneously made of fragile, shattering glass. We are constantly walking that tightrope between fierce hunger and absolute fragility. True intimacy requires the terrifying courage to say: I am messy, I am capable of breaking things, and I am still choosing to love anyway.
