@spainadur: 'Criminal Minds' Is Officially Coming to an End After More Than Two Decades After more than two decades on television, the hit series "Criminal Minds" is officially coming to an end. The popular show first premiered on CBS back in September 2005. It immediately stood out from other procedurals by focusing on the psychology of the criminals being profiled by the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit. The original series ended its run in 2020 after fifteen seasons. But the story did not end there. In 2022, the series was revived on Paramount Plus under the new name "Criminal Minds: Evolution." Now, showrunner Erica Messer has confirmed that the upcoming season will be the last. The series will officially conclude in 2027 with its twentieth overall season. In a public statement, Messer expressed her deep gratitude to the cast, crew, and the loyal fans around the world who kept the show going for so long. She noted that the team is navigating the end of this chapter, but they are looking forward to sharing the new episodes. Fan-favorite stars including Joe Mantegna, A.J. Cook, and Paget Brewster are all set to return for the final storyline. While a specific premiere date has not been announced just yet, the twentieth season promises to celebrate the massive legacy the cast and crew built together.
