SHOULDER PAIN when BENCH PRESSING? Try THIS❗️ • • 🤕Shoulder pain when bench pressing, shoulder pressing, etc. is very common these days. A lot of times, it comes from people not having a solid warmup that gets the proper muscles of their shoulder/back activated! Try this before your next push workout! • • 💪🏼 Get a light dumbbell or light barbell plate - I like to use a 5 pound dumbbell. If that’s too heavy you could even do this with just your hands! Don’t worry about going heavy with this, even some of the strongest athletes I’ve worked with don’t go above 5lbs. You can do this on the ground or a bench! • • 🏋🏻To get a good foundation for your presses, we have to have a good scapular retraction with your middle trapezius muscles in order to have that solid foundation to push from. Start by lifting the weights up and holding for a couple seconds, pushing the weights away from you. Go up until about 90 degrees and then back down. You can perform this move slow to get an ever bigger burn in your rear delts, rhomboids and trapezius muscles. • • ✅Performing 2-3 sets of this exercise before pressing will help prime your muscles and get rid of that nagging pain you feel so you can #getbetternotolder • • 🙋🏻‍♂️Questions?
