This doesn't make any sense. If there was a will, it would override a handwritten letter made over 10 yrs before her passing. Also the way he explained the cut. If the will was to be split evenly between all the kids, then why was his mom cut out. Lastly, all wills have to go through probate. Sounds like Dous is confused on what a Will is, because ain't no way any of this sounds legal. Maybe I missed a chapter

As someone who’s mom got nothing from my grandpas will, it’s unfair. My mom didn’t get anything because my dad did well and we were well off, but my mom had nothing on her own. She was the only one out of her siblings to not get anything. Did she NEED it? No but I’ve seen the pain she’s carried for YEARS of her questioning why she wasn’t enough and the worst part is she’ll never be able to ask. Being the struggling family isn’t the grandparents responsibility to fix. I think it’s fair to split evenly.

Grandma should’ve discussed her last wishes to all her kids not just his mom so they all can respect her wishes if she wasn’t able to change her will. Same happened with my family and everyone for divided because nobody wanted to respect their last wish despite many siblings being present. They choose greed over family.

When my grandpa passed, he divided the land between all his sons. Over the years, all my uncles built their homes on their portions of the land. But when my dad passed, suddenly his own brothers sent us a letter threatening to sue us over the land that now belongs to us, his children. Like seriously, these are grown men in their 60s who already have their own homes on the land. What more do you want? It's sad when family would rather fight you over land than respect what their own brother left behind for his kids.

At the end of the day, we can’t say with certainty that grandma wanted to leave everything to his mom when she had the opportunity to make that decision official and apparently didn’t. I think it’s just as reasonable to believe she intended to divide her assets equally among all her children. Wanting to defend his mom is understandable, but that doesn’t mean we should automatically assume his interpretation of grandma’s wishes is correct.
