I lost a 20yr friendship over a friend who continually broke "promises" to my 4yr old! in our home a promise was a commitment not to be broken (unless dire emergency) She continually promised him on this day I'm taking you swimming, the zoo, Chuck Cheese ect. I'd get up find him dressed & waiting the Crack of dawn, she no show, him cry all day. When I asked her to stop she saud "I don't do that". She asked other mutuals who all said yeah you do & she was ANGRY! I lost that friend but my child's heart wasn't broken 💔 by her again.

this is huge when your raised in Texas but I will say I haven't seen it as much in other states. I also dont think people realize that if your word means nothing then eventually they are not deemed worthy of the respect those words carried.
