We've been bullied for a long time too, especially online, simply because our ancestors were sold into slavery and labeled as slaves. We've been told we're not real Africans because we were born in America. Our food gets called "slave food," and we're constantly reminded that we supposedly don't know where we come from. Some of y'all have even admitted that your parents raised you not to associate with us because they viewed Black Americans as bad people. We've been stereotyped as baby mamas, welfare queens, lazy, and everything else under the sun. Recently, we've seen numerous posts from non-Black people sharing how Black immigrants speak negatively about Black Americans to them, sometimes even expecting them to join in. So just like y'all have experienced bullying and disrespect, we have too. This isn't something that's only happening on one side. It goes both ways, and y'all can't gaslight us into believing that the disrespect is only wrong when it's directed at you. You can't expect us to sit back and accept insults, then turn around and call us bullies when we respond. If we're going to have a conversation about the disrespect between our communities, then we need to acknowledge ALL of it, not just the part that affects y'all.
