@calicrime: A suspected stolen vehicle turned into a multi-city pursuit early Thursday morning, taking San Francisco police through Oakland, Alameda, and San Leandro. According to the San Francisco Police Department, officers identified the vehicle entering San Francisco from the Bay Bridge around 1:06 a.m. using automated license plate reader technology. Things escalated quickly. A police drone tracked the vehicle as the driver allegedly fled through city streets, crossed back over the bridge, and continued through multiple East Bay communities. The road trip finally came to an end in San Leandro when the vehicle crashed into a guardrail. But apparently, the chase wasn’t quite over. Four occupants, including one juvenile, were taken into custody following a brief foot pursuit, with assistance from California Highway Patrol air support. Police identified three adult suspects, ages 18, 19, and 22. Authorities also reported weapons-related allegations, including possession of an assault weapon, a loaded firearm, and a high-capacity magazine, along with felony evasion allegations. Talk about taking the scenic route! Four cities later, the trip ended with a crash and multiple arrests.
