@naomi.thomas008: Cancelled 5 days out, and somehow the "replacement" was supposed to be good news 🙃 would you have signed? #travelnurse #travelnursing #nurse #nursetok #nurselife

Same area so wouldn’t you still have housing that you don’t have to cancel? I would have signed

I wish they couldn’t cancel without some sort of financial cost

Travel contracts are not contracts. Dupe you into thinking this. They’ll cancel you in a heartbeat. This has happened to me twice.

This is why I have no problem cancelling one week prior to a contract of something better pops up

these seem very very low i had a friend who was a traveling nurse and her contracts where never lower than 35 one contract she did was 6 months at 50 4 days a week with a stipend of 1500

I just think for this exact reasons they should be called contracts. A contract is binding and shouldn’t be easy to get out of and there should definitely be consequences if cancelled

Same I wish they would have to reimburse us for housing and any money spent getting situated if they choose to cancel.

Kim Impossible :
get a new recruiter from a different company and before signing a contract check the state per diem section so you know if you're getting properly reimbursed with meals and housing. also, just do Airbnb 1 week before fully committing. Hopefully ur next recruiter used to be a nurse coz most dunno how much hard work we put into the job

Dang, didn’t know nurses get paid so little outside of california. I’m a xray tech in nor cal and get paid 84 hr. Our hospital starting wage is 62 hr now. It’s also relatively easy to get extra hrs and OT at the hospital I’m at.

Hard contracts matter. Get it in writing and require a guarantee.

Nurses keep accepting these low pay contracts is the main reason why travel nursing isnt worth it. If I am getting the worst assignments every shift, have to do on-boarding modules in a few days, and be expected to hit the ground running. I better be getting paid top money and not have to live in my car just to come out on top. The stipend shouldn't be included in the pay rate.

Gotta play it safe out here. Why would you jump into such a huge financial commitment before ever starting ? There are so many more steps than just the recruiter saying you are good

That’s the way they do and they push in a contract

TRULY we need to STOP thinking recruiters/ agencies are on the side of the nurses. They are ONLY out for their $$$ off the backs of nurses hard work!!!!!!!! Why do we not ask each time in writing how much THEY are making off of YOUR hard work!?!?
